Organisations - Get Checked Campaign Halton

What We Do

The Get Checked campaign aims to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of breast, bowel and lung cancer.

Local volunteers are actively involved in the awareness campaign to help reduce cancer deaths in the area. The Get Checked campaign aims to reduce the number of cancer deaths in the Halton and St Helens area from breast, bowel and lung cancers, by encouraging people to get diagnosed as quickly as possible to ensure treatments are much more effective and many lives can be saved.

Simple Message with Postive Benefits

The Get Checked campaign message is simple - to go and see your GP if you develop unusual symptoms.

The North West of England has higher rates of cancer deaths than the national average, but encouraging signs have already been seen across Halton and St Helens by a 39% increase in fasttrack referrals of people with suspicious symptoms.
